COPY OF OUR - NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2011
We hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and we would like to wish you a very happy new year!
Firstly, I would like to thank those who were able to attend one of our meet-ups last year and have joined our Facebook page. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to exist. Even though we have been running for only a short time, we now have a total of 53 parents on Facebook and many more parents who know of us. It has been a great way to advertise our group, please let anyone else you know about us.
What We Do?
The aim of the group is for single parents and their children to meet up, chat and make friends in a relaxed environment. We meet every three weeks in the Community Facilities Room at Christchurch Fire Station and outdoors during the summer months!
Some events we did last year include:
Fire Station Visit ☺ Terry the magician ☺ Picnic at Christchurch Quay
Moors Valley ☺ Jo Jingles
Our Future Plans
From the 9th January, we will be charging £1.00 per child to attend our events. The monies will then go towards all arts & crafts as well as refreshments. As we are a voluntary group, we do not receive funding for these items.
Future possible events will include: Farmer Palmers, Picnic in the park, BBQ’s, Littledown Park, Fire Station visit!
Our website will be update regularly with more details of forthcoming events.
We are aiming for voluntary status now that we have three elected trustees and are looking for members who are willing to join our committee, become involved in future planning and have their say about how they would like to see the group develop.
If you would to become a member and are over the age of eighteen, this also enables you to vote on the committee or wish to arrange a taster session please email me at: bigsmallparentsgroup@hotmail.com |
